Remember that the dance codes are more or less flexible depending on the milonga you go to. It is important that you paid attention to which codes are being use.

Cabeceo (head gesture/invitation to dance)

is a common way to invite another person to dance.

First try to make eye contact with the person you are trying to invite, if the person returns the eye contact you will make a small gesture with your head to indicate to the person you want to dance (this is the cabeceo).

Avoid going directly to the table to ask that person to dance, is considerably rude.

If the person accepts, walk toward each other and enter

Direction of the dance

All the couples move counter clockwise direction.

Dance floor is divided in lanes, once you choose your lane maintain it, do not pass couples ahead of you and if you do pass do not forget to apologize.
